Wow Christmas has come and gone and it has been a tight one this year! Where to start......
A week before Christmas I delivered my first granddaughter--RayLee Laurel Geraldine Hawkins. What a great experience that was!! Yes I am a midwife. At least I was told that's what I am! One day I will follow that call with more energy and vigor!!
I made TeePee for my 5 year old son for Christmas (shh don't tell he thinks Santa brought it!) it is so rewarding to have a little ones eyes light up like his did when he saw his TeePee Christmas morning. He slept in it with his sister and brother Christmas night. In his words 'it is really cool!'
My 9 year old got a sewing machine--she was ecstatic!! I love finding just the right gift for my kids, something that builds their talents and gets them excited about life. I know Christmas isn't about the things we get, but I sure enjoy the excitement in the kids eyes!
My 7 year son asked for and got leather working stuff, those squeals of delight were almost girl like! We all got a big laugh out of that.
The 15 year old got a headset microphone--she is our singer and has wanted one for her shows for awhile. I really don't know much about the things, so I hope I did ok with picking it out.
The 13 year old got bits, a bridle and reins for her horse. That was also alot of fun to give her.
I also scraped up enough money to get a used xbox for the family and some games. We ALL are enjoying that!!!
I have a full plate for the next few days as we sew, leather craft, and play video games. I am hearing 'Mama help me and Mama play with me.' Oh let me not forget that my husband has been really sick so I am hearing 'Honey I need more cough syrup and I am feveredand.......' It's all good--I love being needed (even when I am tired!)
We also had the opportunity to put our brains to work Christmas day and throw together some gifts for two kids that lost their daddy and didn't get Christmas this year. Later we found out that because they didn't get anything Christmas morning they thought that they had been bad so Santa wasn't coming. How sad to hear that, but so rewarding to know that we made Christmas a little better for them!
It has been a full week, full of joy, growth, and love!!!
